[ What we do on the day ]

A clean, methodical install

  1. 01

    Confirm the points

You tell us which rooms need wired points and where the hub should live. We walk the routes, confirm what's achievable, and flag anything awkward before we start.

  2. 02

    Run certified cabling

Cat-6 or Cat-6A is run in-wall back to the central point — certified to 10 Gbps — and terminated to labelled, flush wall plates in each room.

  3. 03

    Build a tidy rack

At the hub we install a labelled patch panel, switch, colour-coded leads and surge protection in a neat rack or enclosure — easy to understand and service.

  4. 04

    Seamless Wi-Fi

We add ceiling or wall access points (a wired mesh backbone) positioned for full, fast coverage across the whole home and outdoor areas — on one network.

  5. 05

    Test, label & document

Every run is tested and labelled, and we hand over a tidy, working network. HDMI extension/splitting and troubleshooting available on request.

[ Why it matters here ]

Built for Perth conditions

Double-brick kills Wi-Fi

Most Perth homes are double-brick, and those solid internal walls absorb wireless signal — which is why a single router leaves dead spots and why plug-in extenders disappoint. Hard-wired access points fed by Cat-6 are the reliable fix, giving full-speed coverage in every room and out to the alfresco.

Done to ACMA standard

Fixed data cabling in Australia must be installed by a registered cabler. ACS is ACMA-registered (licence T62021), so your cabling is done to the standard — important for safety, for reliability, and if you ever sell the property.

Common questions

Cat-6 vs Cat-6A — which do I need for a Perth home?

Cat-6 comfortably handles gigabit and supports 10 Gbps over shorter in-home runs, and is the sensible default for most homes. Cat-6A guarantees 10 Gbps over the full 100m and has better shielding — worth it for longer runs, future-proofing, or homes/offices that want headroom. We'll recommend the right one for your runs rather than overselling.

Network rack vs mesh Wi-Fi — what's the difference?

They solve different problems. A network rack is the wired hub where all your cabling terminates — it brings order, speed and reliability to the whole system. Mesh Wi-Fi is about wireless coverage. The best setup usually combines both: a wired backbone from the rack feeding access points placed for seamless Wi-Fi — far better than mesh units talking to each other over the air.

Will hard-wired internet really be faster than Wi-Fi?

For anything stationary — a desktop, smart TV, console or work-from-home setup — yes. A wired Cat-6 connection is faster, lower-latency and far more stable than Wi-Fi, with no interference or dropouts. It also frees up the wireless network for phones and tablets. It's the single best upgrade for reliable video calls and lag-free gaming.

Can you set up a home office network?

Yes. We run a hard-wired Cat-6 point to your study for a fast, rock-solid connection, can add a wired access point to lift Wi-Fi nearby, and terminate everything to neat flush plates. It's the difference between dropping out mid-meeting and a connection you never think about.
